Science
· Curriculum Intent: For all pupils of St. Mary’s to have full, balanced and progressive exposure to the science curriculum whilst stimulating curiosity about natural and physical phenomena and events in the world around them. |
As part of British Science Week 2023, St Mary's held a Science Selfie competition where pupils were asked to submit a photograph of themselves showing an aspect of science at home or as part of our every day lives. We had some fantastic entries, well done to all! Our KS2 winner was Leighton in class 6, KS1 winner was Katie in class 3, and EYU winner was Marla. #SuperStMarysScientists #bsw2023
In March 2023, we celebrated British Science Week. Every class in school took part with a wide range of science investigations going on. We also had a full day of science workshops from a company called Love Science which was a fantastic way to inspire that awe and wonder for all pupils (and staff!) Here are a just few photographs from class 11, 7 and the Early Years Unit.
In November 2022, our year 5 and 6 pupils were very lucky to participate in an RAF Mighty Minds STEM workshop. The children loved creating, coding and programming their own robots.
