Catholic Life
At St. Mary's, we provide as many opportunities as possible for our pupils to experience the Gospel and truly live out its messages. While our RE curriculum provides pupils with an understanding of scripture and examples of how it might be applied in our day to day lives, our ultimate goal is to ensure pupils fully live out our Mission: to live, love and learn together with Jesus as our guide.

We follow Leeds Diocese's programme of Virtues to Live by with pupils encountering 2 virtues each half term. These form the basis of prayers and collective worship within school and also provide the themes for our Class Masses in that half term. Please see an example of one of our virtue Masses here.
At St. Mary's, one of the ways that we ensure pupils are given opportunity to live out our school mission is through our coverage of Catholic Social Teaching. Our overview ensures pupils are given opportunity to explore faith in action at a level appropriate to their year group, and our Year 5/6 Mini Vinnies meet regularly to discuss how this can be implemented in our wider community.
